Haynes does not metion shims on a front brake job, neither does this site's Bay 13. When I bought my parts last night online, shims were only available for the rears.
The only reason I ask is that when I was price shopping, my local Autozone counter guy said that the shims came with the pads.
I bought Brembo discs (2) and PBR ultimate ceramics (1 set - front). I paid 140 shipped from Auto Parts Place.
Any responses appreciated.
PS. This forum is fantastic!

the fronts dont use shims.
just make sure you use plenty of brake gease on the back of the pads and in the runners on the carriers. also put some inside the piston arouns where the clip goes.

There are several kinds of rear pad shims and it depends on the rear of our car which ones to use. Might want to put year and model in your sig line. No shims on the front of 850 SVC70s.

I really like the Permatex Disc Brake Quiet...You can get it in a spray can and it comes out very liquidy then sets up in about a minute or so....
You can find that at just about any auto parts store
