the other day i took my glove box apart to fix the broken plastic around my hinge mount. i used some 45 minute epoxy that seems to be holding well.
while i had the golve box out i noticed that some of the screw points were cracked and pretty much useless now. i tried fixing one of them with the epoxy, but that did not work.
what can i do to fix this? should i just look into buying a new dash? i have a few rattles in there that i'm pretty sure are simply loose screws or broken screw points.

I would try to hunt for the loose screws first.

so far the screws aren't missing, i just figure that there has to be one or two in there. the plastic that the screw goes into is cracked so the hole is basically stripped and the screw just doesn't get any "bite".

it's the holes in the dash that the glove box is screwed into. the glove box iteself is just fine.

Ok they make what I call a speed clip..how the H.E. double toothpick do I explain this,,,,uuumm,,,a speed clip is like the same clip that your radiator has on it for condensor mounting just a smaller version, it slides onto the dash and you can run a screw through it...I have no clue on how to explain...done it before though..sorry perhaps some of these more internet savy guys will pick up on this (what I'm trying to describe) and throw you a link..I'm not searching..sorry

this is happening to the cover that is under my steering column....the little brackets that the screws go into are just fine, and the screws go in, but the plastic that the brackets are on is stretched and cracked, so the cover hangs down a bit...i want to fix that somehow, but since the plastic is part of the dash, i have a feeling that I would need to replace the entire dash!

Felix, Im not sure if were on the same level but are you talking about plastic clips you run screws into? On my firebird I had the same problem but all the clips were long out of production. Solution? Squirt hot glue into the clips and use self tapping screws from a hardware store. Worked like a charm and was free.

i may give that a try. i was also thinking that i could epoxy the holes and re-drill them.
if you have taken your glove box out, i am talking about the holes in the dash plastic that the screws run into.
i may just take my dash out and give it a good once-over. i noticed that the passenger side is about 1/2" lower than it should be.

Hot glue em! Squirt those suckers full of hot glue, it works much quicker than expoy and is very effective. The panels on the bottom of the dash though I haven't come up with an easy solution for when they start to sag.

good way to describe that....they are sagging, esp on the drivers side for me from opening and closing it so much to access wiring.
