Rear Seat Cigarette Tray Light

This past week, I replaced the console shifter bulb, the cigarette lighter bulb and fixed the electric side windows (poor connection).

As I was finishing, I noticed a black wire dangling underneath from the rear ash tray light. I could not find the connection.

Does anyone have that experience in their repertoire?????

Since the warm weather is here, it would a nice weekend project.

Do you have ash tray in the arm rest? For some reason I don't. Although, I have a bulb in that area that illuminates the arm rest compartment and is located in the back. You could probably hook up that ash tray light wire to the wire that goes to the armrest light that I described. It could be the same thing though

It is the same thing. That light should light up the rear ash tray and the compartment under the arm rest.

on the ashtray bulbs, there are usually two wires going onto the bulb socket...a pink one and a black one....you'll see a little "-" tab on the end of the bulb socket to hook the connector onto...

This morning, I rechecked the black wire location, and, yes, it is for the light in the armrest storage area, not necesssarily the ashtray. There is a light located in the armrest inner, rear storage area. The black wire is dangling from the light under that storage area and behind the ashtray where I did not see a light.

Thanx a ton for clearing that up.

It appears that there is only a black wire dangling from the light, and where does it connect I cannot find.

Sorry for the confusion.
