Hey all,

I'm experiencing more interesting temp issues with my '95 850 Turbo.

Some of you may remember that it takes FOREVER for the engine temp needle to start moving. This morning (outside temp = 40c) I drove at 40mph to work about 2mi away and it barely moved. I turned on the heat to full and cool air came out.

My mechanic checked cooling and said that the fan comes on at the appropriate time to cool the engine.

And this only happens when the engine has been off for more then eight hours. If it has been used recently it will usually warm up fairly quickly.

What's up here? huh.gif My N/As warm up faster then this!

Thanks!

How long does a temp sensor usually last for? And should I also replace the ECT sensor while I'm at it?

The temp sensor is below the thermostat. (I believe)

Does the Turbo's temperature gauge move to operating temperature (halfway)? Make note to see if the temp drops while on the highway and see if it comes back up at a stop. If this is happening you likely need a new thermostat. Your mechanic should have been able to assist in diagnosing this.

Chilton or haynes manual or both are good resources to have.
