Okay, so my low boost is bothering me. I lost to a V6 Mustang. Bah.
I'd like to start methodically troubleshooting, so now that I've installed my Samco hoses, I wanna try bypassing the BCS. Is there any way to do this without a.) blowing up my turbo and b.) blowing up my engine? Ideally, I'd like to just disconnect the BCS, drive around the block and see if I can get it to 10 psi. If I can, then I know the problem lies with electronics and not physical connections. I'd prefer to avoid buying an MBC.
Any help is appreciated! I know I'm becoming an annoyance. Thanks.

got your PM...firstly, do you have a boost gauge, and are you basing the low boost on losing to a V6 mustang, because that is entirely possible with a stock 850
oh, and you're not an annoyance....that's why we have this forum, to help people who don't know what they're doing!!....I was new before also, and I knew nothing, and I'm learning slowly, but surely!

have you checked/replaced all your vacuum hoses? Getting the Samcos was a great start, but there is some other stage 0 stuff that needs to be covered too.
I wouldn't recommend completely bypassing the BCS...plus a new one shouldn't set you back too much money - check with FCP Groton for a price
If you do want to hook up an MBC to bypass the BCS, then just go to the instructions in the performance section here on volvospeed.com

Yeah, I've got a boost gauge. I max out at 5 psi.
I really just wanna cut the BCS out of the equation. The second it boosts 10 psi the car gets coasted back to my house. I'm just wondering if this is possible to do without an MBC.
And losing to a V6 Mustang is just plain embarassing.
My car should be faster according to everything I've seen.

losing to a V6 mustang, consider you have a STOCK 850 auto (I'm assuming) is not that embarrasing IMO....since you are boosting only 5psi, I could see where you're coming from, b/c that guy probably blew you out of the water.....by the way, I have an extra BCS that we can try if we need to.....we'll arrange a meeting, and let's see what's going on.....I have a feeling it's a boost leak or vac leak considering all those codes....

Meh, I should do 60 in 7.4, he should do it in 8 and change. He beat me by a small margin, although had he been a half decent shifter I think it would've been worse. It was a convertible. Ugh.
