About two weeks ago I went to pick my kid up at school. He has my 93 850 with him. Upon arrival I find it nearly abandoned in the parking lot. Anyway I get it home. It appears some one ran over something and gave the corner of a little pan bolted on to the bottom of the automatic transmission a little jolt and it had a drip. It winds up being difficult to get at all the bolts. So I decide to remove the Trans fluid output tube from the tranny. No problems. I get the gasket replaced and everything back together and now the tube to the radiator is leaking like a sieve. Any way I see there is an "o" ring so I replace it. Still gushing. I check the fit. Still leaking not as badly. Anyway I can not get this tube from leaking. Any suggestions.

did you replace the spring clip when you replaced the o rings? (there are two i think on the 850's)

No! I didn't see any spring clips. MAy have shot off when I removed the bolt. It would seem something is missing here!
What do the spring clips look like?

IPD has the flush kit that includes the oring and clip to secure the connection...I have a feeling either you did not secure it all the way (it's kinda funny getting that thing on all the way), or you don't have it there at all, or you're is broken...gotta replace the oring and clip....
dealer should have it for a couple of bucks....

Some Success! And some confusion due to my terrible initial description of the problem.
Anyway.... I am refering to the other end of the hose in the picture from Bay 13. Where it meets the transaxle. Next to the transmission fluid temperature sensor. On the 93 the tube inserts to the transaxle/transfer case housing. The tube if seated properly puts pressure on the "o"ring which seats against a lip in the opening. The connection is stabilized by means of a tab which is bolted to the housing. The tab appears to be welded to the side of the tube, near the tip. Anyway it appeared there was only an "o" ring when I took it apart. My local Volvo Dealer explained that the manual he was refering to only showed an "o" ring as well.
To make a long story short ... I put two "o" rings on the end of the tube. Snugged it up gently, but it's tight. Anyway so far so good. No more leak. Sure would like to know how the proper connection should look.
Thanks for all of your help and comments... I don't participate regularly but whenever I have a problem with the 850 I have always gotten the best advice right here!

it seals sort of like a compression fitting. Instead of two O rings I would have looked for the fattest O ring I could find that would fit in there. BUT if it works it works
end of story.!!
I had to R&R my tranny and I know the line you are talking about but the part about the radiator threw me..sorry about that. Had you had any work done to the tranny lately?
