I have new end links and I'm trying to get the old ones off so I can install them.I have the car jacked up and I got both of the end link bolts off but there is quite a bit of tension on the end link so I cannot get it off. What is the proper way to remove the stock sway bar end links? I assume I'm not doing it correctly, please help me out! what do I jack up to get tension off the link once I get the bolts off?

thanks

Anybody w/ any input at all PLEASE help me out! I need to drive the car later and it's all in pieces, I really don't want to give up and bolt the crappy ruined end links back up.

I know somebody knows the (simple, I'm sure) answer!!

Jack up the car and place on stands so that the front suspension hangs freely. After this you may have to jack the control arm on one side or the other depending if you need to raise the stabilizer bar to take the pressure off the other side.

If you go the BFH route, make sure none of your body parts (or anything else for that matter) are anywhere near it when it comes out.

As suggested, jack up car on both sides using the frame and let the wheels hang freely. Then remove wheels. Use another jack to raise the spindle until the tension has been released from the sway bar.

The stock sway bar has a rubber bushing that is attached (vulcanized I think) to the sway bar so that it resists rotating very far. Its that bushing that is causing it to bind with the suspension unloaded.

Patrick, you gotta let the suspension hang when you're unscrewing, and then support the control arms with something to get the links off and back on....
