Today i had to be to work at 6pm so i get in the old 850 at 5ish to leave... insert ignition key and turn........lights come on and.......nothing. No turning over just silence. First thing i check is battery connections and theyre tight, on my old 850 i had to replace the ignition switch cuz it was loose and the ABS/TRACS light would stay on. So im thinkin maybe its loose but then i realized i didnt have that damned long torx driver
so im like freakin out cuz ive never been stranded by one of my Beloved 850s. So i go inside, logged in to VS and search the forums.....Saw a post that had a bad PNP switch and a link to Bay13 repair. I didnt even think to try to start the car in Neutral!!! Do'h!!! And after using the advice in the repair section and moving the shifter thru all the gears it starts in "P" again!!!
I cant recall all the times Ive had a query or a situation that ive been able to come to VS and find the answer. Today U guys have at the very least have saved me a tow bill and a diagnostic charge. Not to mention how stupid i would have felt when I found out what it was
