I purchase my Volvo 850 2.4 recently and notice that along with the front end damage, it looks like the car was rewired for the radiator fan and horn etc. My fan has not come on yet. But my car hasn't been overheating either. So how can I tell if it is faulty wiring or just not hot enough for the fan to come on? My horn also doesn't work. I know I can switch out the horn or rewire to fix it.

Please advise

On my car, once it is warmed up, if I turn on the AC the fan comes on. If I have the windows down, I also hear it kick on if I am at a long stoplight. Does your temp gauge move at all when you are at stoplights?

For the horns, can you hear the relay click when you push the button? My horns are dead, or almost dead, so you probably can't hear them more than 15 feet away. With the windows up, I can't hear them at all, just the relay click.

What year is your car? You could check for DTC codes for the fan.

Well then, I know my fan isn't working now because it never comes on. The temp may go up a little but maybe I am seeing things because it is slight. I can replace the horns so maybe they are dead. Well I don't even hear the click when I press the horn. One is cracked.

Do you have a multi meter, check the connections at the horn and see if you have voltage and ground.

To read codes.

I am going to check with meter tomorrow. I believe that may be the problem.

If your A/C is working there is a little test, turn it on and in less than one minute the radiator fan should come on in speed one.
