I'm trying to remove the passenger side axle from my 1993 Volvo 850 5-speed.
From what I read, it should just "pull out". Is there a trick to this? a good place to pry? anything I could be missing? I have everything unbolted.
There's a little slot next to the transmission, but it doesn't seem deep enough to pry the axle out. Any information would be helpful!
thanks!
Terry

Disconnect the axle from the hub, the big nut.
Disconnect the hub from the lower control arm.
Swing the hub / strut assembly away from the axle until it comes out.
Remove the axle carrier bearing support (it is bolted to the engine).
The axle will slide out of the transmission, there is no retainer ring.

Make sure you take this bracket off before you try ripping the axle out.
