There would be a LOT of work to swap that motor in. I think there was a guy on VPtuning that might have done the swap. Why not just build the existing motor and boost the crap out of it?
Here is one of Mixen's posts I found on VPtuning
"For the most part it's just a drop in, but you need complete S80 front suspension, with enginebay, brakes, steering and exhaust. The 850 struts needs to be rebuild to fit the S80 spindle. The IC-piping and ECC piping has to be customised. But these are minor problems.
The biggest problem though is the wiring, you need ABSOLUTLY every electronic from the same car that the engine and gearbox is taken from, that meens, ECM, TCM, ABS, DIM, UEM. All these boxes are configurated together too "speak" the same language. They are comunicating through a digital network, and this network has to be connected to your cars oem-wiringsystem.
Another problem is that if you have a 850/X70 MY92-98 you'll need to replace it with parts from the X70 MY99-, this because the networksystem only where available from MY99-.
When that problem is solved, you need to figure out how to get these 3 systems to work together. The X70 classic has only a Hi-speed network, while the S80 has a hi- and lowspeed network, the problem is to get everything to wor and "speak" the same language without interupting the signals and create configartion problems.
Other than that it's just a bolt on. "

Swap the block?? It's a totally different motor. Your best bet is to pull out your current motor, disassemble it and get the block built with forged pistons & rods. Then just get a big turbo and get it tuned. Throw a M56H while you're at it with a Spec clutch and you're set.
If you click the pic in my sig, you'll see pics of my motor build.

ok i see....u did a nice job. did u do it yourself
the reason why i was inquiring about this swap is because there is a ticking noise coming from my engine. sounds like a lifter or a valve...not sure.
a rebuilt would be nice but i am on a budget,

No, I didn't build the motor. I wish I had done some of the legwork myself though.. like pulling the motor and tearing it down etc... would have saved me a lot of money. You live and learn...
