No you don't, they have some serious issues with the AWD system.

All tyres have to be kept in a very similar tread depth, otherwise you'll put strain on the AWD system and the transfer box will need replacing, which costs £1300 in the UK, which is around $2500 job.

So if you have a puncture, you need 4 new tyres. Its either that or a very large bill.

Something I've always contemplated but I have always been advised against is an S70AWD R. Say you take a S70 AWD and put the 2.3 HPT motor from the T5 in it. What do you get ?

Yes , sort of because if I put the 2000 V70R engine in, I run into issues with VADIS. You cant swap engines that easy on these cars . Reason I call it an R is because the S70R had the same hp as the 97R

It would be a 5 speed ofcourse smile.gif

If only I could convince my wife to let me do it tongue.gif

Well, I now have the same engine in my T5 as a UK spec 5-speed 850R...

Does that make mine an R? cool.gif
