I think there may be something wrong with my transmission on my 98 V70GLT. Lately whenever shifting from drive to reverse (yes, i come to a complete stop first) i get this clunking sound when i give it some gas. Shifting from reverse to drive, I get the same thing. This is something completely new and it has me a little worried. Also, a nother thing i've noticed is that when accelerating sometimes the car refuses to down shift. For instance, today i was merging onto the highway in heavy traffic trying to pick up speed so i can cut someone off. I had it floored and my RPMs were at about 3500 and it just wouldn't downshift. I usually run my car in "sport" mode so i'm used to it downshifting pretty easily. It's been doing this quite a bit lately and i'm starting to think i may have a problem. Possibly time for a transmission flush? or am I getting worked up over nothing? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.
Possible Tranny Problem?

yea i was thinking about trying seafoam. I went to check my transmission fluid, but i couldn't even find where its at? Is volvo hiding it from me, or am i just blind?

The trans dipstick is under the plastic air tube that runs from the grill to the airbox. It just pulls out from both ends.
Fluid level should be checked when warm and running. Should be red and somewhat clear like thin strawberry syrup. If its dark or smells burned, you need to flush. IPD sells a kit that makes doing this very easy.
