Oh, I've seen the new C70 before, and that's not it. This is:

Oh wait... no I haven't. No offense, the guy may be right that its the real thing, but the chances that they've seen the new C70 when no one else has are pretty unlikely.
XC50 seems to be going again.

The whole problem is that it is based off of the new S40 - any way you look at it, the elegance that the C70 had will be lost in this new coupe/convert. I'd say this is a "kid's" car or a car for some female that didnt feel like getting a VW Cabrio ------------- uhh, sorry, my stomach got a bit queazy....------- I'm not saying that I'm an old man or anything, but I'm 6'2" and me getting into that car every day isn't going to look right - Not sure how it would feel? but I've driven in my cousin's P1 and P2 S40 cars and I don't feel it in those either, although I must say I liked the P1 better and if that was T5 :-D
In all, I think Volvo is heading in a positive direction for some, but they need to come up with both a C40 and a C60/70. Until then...
May the puking commence.

PS, my two cents - Volvo should have the hatchback be a V30, not C30. The C50 should be a roadster and the C70 a 2+2, both hardtop. They should also think about a C90 coupe to compete with CLK interested buyers who would like to save a few bucks. They should bring in a V90 to compete with people looking for an A8 or BMW 7 Series or MB S Klasse sized car who might pop for a huge wagon instead of sedan.
Buy me Volvo, and I'll make it happen.

C30* - Roadster Version of SCC
C50* - Roadster Version of C70
C70+ - Revamped version of C70.
C90* - Big, luxury coupe half as sweet and half as pricey as a Maserati GT.
S40 - Fixed
S60+ - Revamped.
S80+ - Reborn.
V30 - The currently planned C30.
V50 - The V50 that is out there now, gliches fixed.
V70+ - Reborn version of the V70 we all know and love.
V90* - Supersized Wagon (Reclaims Volvo's title of "sweetest wagon ever" with an R model to crush Magnum owner's egos and to compete with supersedans for people who want more practicallity, less pampering in a huge car.)
XC10* - My favorite, a little XC convertible for harcore offroading. (VW concept competitor.)
XC50* - The XC50 as previously planned. (X3 Competitor)
XC70+ - The XC70 we all know and love, reborn. (Allroad competitor.)
XC90 - The XC90 we all know and love. (MDX, ML, Touareg, etc. competitor.)
* = completely new
+ = improved
I would like a YCC turned to rear engine supersport car, but that's just unlikely!
Why do you say that?

there was talk from the guys at volvo about possibly making a C70 roadster with the R engine and selling for around $55k USD in the UK back when the planning was first starting, but it'll be a while before we see if they do that. maybe the reason they chose to go back to C70 from the rumored switch to C50 is that they want to do what I think they should do and make the roadster a C50. =X

What glitches?
Unless they switch back to the proper (rear) drive wheels, and providing that Dodge doesn't release the SRT8 S/C version of the Magnum, it'll never happen.
Sadly, it'll have to be able to support 20+" rims to survive in today's marketplace too.

Yes, I don't see a wagon from Volvo every directly competing with a Magnum. I think the Magnum and 300C are ugly as hell and the Volvo easily wins on looks, but that is only my opinion. However, it is so easy to just drop a bigger V8 in to them to get more power.

There are tons of stupid problems with the S40 and V50, especially the radio. They tend to just stop working and there is supposedly no fix yet. It's a bunch of BS. First MY quirks though, they'll be fixed.
Damned straight it would.

First of all, for the XXXXXXth time, there will be no C50.
Volvo made it clear that this model will be designated C70. It uses a foldable hardtop roof so when closed the car will be a coupe.
It looks like this picture is legit afterall,

Johann, man, give up telling them it's going to be the C70. Stupid magazines have *still* been spreading wrong information. I guess no one reads Volvo's press releases.
Anyway, I am still left unfulfilled. I want to see the interior.
