Using the remote, the drivers door power lock button on my 98 S70 at times only comes part way up then goes back down without unlocking the door. If I cycle the locks with the master power lock button on the inside of the drivers door the door then works fine for a few days.It also works ok with the key. Any ideas?

Worst case is your door lock is starting to fail. Before replacing the door lock assembly, make sure the button that pops up is streight, and not binding on anything, I've seen that cause it to jump back down.

Thanks, That was what I was thinking except for the fact when I hit the master button on the drivers door and not the remote it pops up ok.Is it possible for the remote on the locks to get out of sync on the different doors.

If you can't remember the last time you changed the batterys in your remote, it's time. I doubt that it though cause all the other locks work correctly.

K. i found the cause of this problem, if you have power door locks, and you are about to unlock the door and somebody pulls the handle just before the door unlocks it will cause the system inside to bend in a weird shape (sorry for the description it was the only one that made sense to me by my mechanic) so he told me to keep locking and unlocking the door until the system eventually straightens itself out, I tried it and now my doors fixed.

"if you have power door locks, and you are about to unlock the door and somebody pulls the handle just before the door unlocks" the mechanism in the door will jam. It renders the remote useless for unlocking those doors.
I've now had this happen twice in the past month to my 1998 S70. To add insult to injury, there's no outside manual lock on the passenger side. Reaching into the car to unlock the back door from the front, or reaching from the front to unlock the back, is an exercise in contortion.
I can't wait to see if the recommendation to manually lock/unlock the doors until the mechanism straightens out works. Sounds much easier (and less likely to work!) than taking the door panel off.
