Its Sorta Weird, Censorship

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the wonderful world of America, where the general population is not only dumb enough to spawn & support the American car industry and the SUV trend, but where they also will elect into power something dumber than the average chimpanzee. We're talking about a populace with the average intelligence & attention span of a brain-damaged mentally retarted monkey with ADHD after smoking a reefer. It's so sad to see a country with such potenital be wasted by such a populace.

I hate to sound like a pessimist, but I couldn't agree with you any more on this one John. It really is sad. 50% of Americans have an IQ of less than 100. That fact alone is disgusting. I mean, I just want to scream at everyone, "Put the remote down. Get off your lazy arse and quit watching the filth referred to as reality TV. Go read a F_ing book or do something to better yourself and the world around you". </rant>

The American news media practices corporate censorship. I don't think that should be a surprise to anyone. Those who care get their news elsewhere (hint: BBC streams online, amongst other major international news networks).

nogoat: you don't want to live in Canadia. It's full of Canucks and wanna-be-Frenchmen. Trust me on this.. Australia is where it's at. Oh yea.

im an aussie in canada, so that a weird statement. Canada isnt better than the us. I actually love americans, and own a house in flordia where i go to get away from the world. But americans arent bad people, they all have good intentions, what bothers me is the fact they only seem to make 10 percent the right decisions, but only b/c they believe what they do is right. And doing something they believe in is a good thing imo.

Not everyone with ADD is "retarted" lol And what do you mean about a country with potential?...last time I checked we were the richest most powerful country in the world.

I wasn't saying ADD==retarded, I was saying that the monkey was not only retarded, but also had ADHD.

And richest? Maybe overall -- per capita, there are richer countries. Most powerful? Yea, you havn't read any international news lately, have ya?

i'm very unpleased with this Mr. Bush character.  I don't like war, i don't like how the media makes people think war is the only way.  Why did we go after Saddam?  What ever happend to Bin Laden, did we forget about that guy?  I'm confused on what we're doing.  Is it right?  Why do we start wars?  I just want to go snowboarding and drive my Volvo.

I'm not sure what media you are referring to? The media I see: CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, BBC, ect. all have a very much anti war flavor. President Bush has done many things that I question his decisions on, but going into Iraq isn't one of them. Also does anybody remember the media calling Bill Mr. Clinton?

Here is a good quote to remember when people you don't even know are laying their butts on the line protecting you from people that would kill you without any second thoughs:

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing that is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better [people] than himself."

Um, ok. Remember about 2 1/2 years ago when this was a 'popular' war? Remember the New York Times' (that beacon of Liberalism) reporter Judith Miller writing story after story about Saddam's hidden nuclear capabilities that turned out to be completely baseless? Remember Clear Channel Radio holding "Support the Troops" rallies in every major city? Remember how Bush was at an all time high, 85% job approval rating?

That was the work of a liberal media against the war? Yeah right. They were friggin cheerleaders not dissenters. True dissenters like myself were told to Shut Up by guys like Bill O'Reilly, Tucker Carlson, Chris Mathews, Paula Zahn, Wolf Blitzer and other pundits. We were told we were traitors/unpatriotic if we disagreed with the President and his path to war.

Maybe now that we're in a quagmire and public opinion has shifted on Iraq, the news media has begun to make their coverage mirror opinion.

President Bush has done many things that I question his decisions on, but going into Iraq isn't one of them.  Also does anybody remember the media calling Bill Mr. Clinton?

You don't question Bush for going into Iraq? Even now?? You're still convinced we did the right thing? What we've accomplished so far is worth the $200 billion we've spent and the 1700+ soldiers we've lost?

And I'm not sure what the Bill Clinton comment means. I've read it half a dozen times but I can't figure it out....

Lemme paraphrase your quote:

War is ugly, very ugly. People who think we should never go to war are even uglier. Brown people who are poor, uneducated and oppressed are incapable of fending for themselves and require someone who is whiter and smarter than them to come in, pick them up and show them how to be free.

Did I miss anything?
