Ok, so the dash is off, along with all the other items. I am stuck at the receiver dryer quick disconnect and the evap disconnects. I have the stupid cigar cutter style tool for ford ac/fuel lines but it is not doing the trick. I put the tool inside of the fitting, bottom it and then yank like crazy on the fitting side but nothing happens..... mad.gif huh.gif huh.gif dry.gif sad.gif

same thing on the dryer cept I tried yanking on the dryer side of the line. still nothing. Has anbody else used this style tool???? huh.gif huh.gif

I'm about to hacksaw the evap lines just so I can get on with the dash side of the job..... monkey.gif

Isn't there a bolt (near the alternator) holding the liquid line or the accumulator on the right frame rail? Try removing it so the lines can have somewhere to move to and then they should disconnect easy.

Yeah, I've been there. I'm pretty sure the generic tool I've got is the problem. Round two tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice.

Have you discharged the A/C system? The evap lines are a little more accessible so it's a better place to start than the drier. Make sure that the 6 mm allen bolt near the low-pressure port is out so that the lines that lead to the evap can move. If you have the right tool, then you need to wrap it around the fitting and push it all the way in (towards the front of the car if I remember right), so that you push the internal spring back over the flared edge of the evap fitting. Then with the tool held in there, pull the pipe away from the fitting (you may need to jerk it a couple of times to get it loose).
