This is a weird one, every once and a while I start the car (especially when its hot outside), the headlights don't come on and the abs / tracs light stay on. Car runs fine. Sometimes lights come on about 15 seconds later and abs tracs goes out, other times i have to restart and then its fine..... but weird.

I havent had the headlight switch recall yet, but that should not effect the abs/ tracs should it? Im a bit confused here, but both symptoms are absolutely related, when the lights go on, the abs tracs light turns off almost instantly.

no codes set. This is in a 1996 850, with a rebuilt abs computer, and wiring TSB..... im not even sure where to look on this one...

Same thing happens on my brother's 1995 T-5R. Just jiggle the key slighty and the TRACS and ABS lights go out and headlights come on. I do not know what causes the problem though.

Sounds like the ignition switch is the problem.

Orange850t is right. I had to replace the ignition switch on my last 850 cuz of the exact same problem. I think the part was around $50-60 when i got one from the dealer. Make sure u have some looong handled torx drivers cuz the 2 in the bottom of the steering column trim are way up in there smile.gif
