If you have a factory deck for your Volvo in most cases the antenna stays up whie your playing CDs and tapes. I had a huge problem with this and it also bothers my mother who has an S70. If you have this problem and it bothers you too this all you gotta do. When you pull the radio out you will see two harnesses going into the back of the radio. On the right harness you will see a blue wire with a white stripe on it. All you have to do is cut that wire, and connect two extended wires that go to a switch and mount the switch somewhere. I did it to my mom's car last night in 3-4 minutes

I have to take my Mic out from behind the dash (hands free kit's circuitry went kaboom on me), so I might get around to doing this mod this weekend.

I don't think I'm even going to mount the switch, I'm just going to have it sit in the ash tray. tongue.gif

Mesoam: My guess would be the ground, and then the third unused prong, heh just a suggestion.

Pic?
I've been thinking of toying around with different switches. I am kind of getting tired of not being able to see mine in the dark.

Got that down, but gloves make things interesting. Nice to have a switch that you can see when your finger blocks the light.

I'm one of those weirdos that are hooked on driving gloves all year long.

Besides, I have 3 extra blanks to play with tongue.gif

voi-la (its the little green dot, oh and pay no attention to that CEL, laugh.gif )....here's the thing, it lights when the antenna is up but not when down, doesn't bug me, on a + note, the light does match quite well! 3 bucks @ autozone.

Nice. I'm thinking of shopping around and trying a couple of different switches. Find some I like and then sell the others.

i found a lot of switches at canadian tire
some of them were completely lit

i'm looking for the "missile" type switch
the one with a red cover that goes over a stainless steel rod
you just flick it up and it turns on
