Noticed a leak starting. Area between the trans and engine, which im guessing is RMS. Its a 5sp, so im not too distraught, got 185k, so i'll have a clutch done, and its not gonna be so bad. Got an appointment for tuesday, no way I can drop a trans myself without a garage and lift :-(
Is there anything else that should be replaced on a 5speed car?
I religiously clean out the flame trap, and its actually never been plugged, and ive never had any issues, is it normal to have the seal go out after 185k?

Rear Main Seal Arg.

Normal, hard to tell. But 185K is a lot of miles on a rubber seal that has a crankshaft turning on it all the time. With a production line car, assuming the seal was put in correctly, mileage will depend on lots of things some I might not know about. Heat cycles, oil types, mating surface where the seal is at etc. Its a major job so no matter when it starts to leak there is the desire that it would not have happen. All rear main seals leak in time. You have gotten good mileage on yours.
Clutch kit, throw out bearing, and a good flush of the hydraulic system including the slave cylinder is about all you need for a RMS.
