on my 04 s60 there are wipers for the headlights, yet i dont know how to turn them on. they look like they might be pretty cool, but try as i might, i could not get them to turn on. does anyone know how they work or how to get them to?

oh yeah, and why is my exhaust system welded to the huge muffler, making it impossible to replace?

Shouldn't they move when you turn on your windshield wipers?

And why can you not remove it, the muffler that is? Who says you cannot?

they only move when you spray your winshield with wiper fluid. smile.gif

i'm sure there is a way to rewire the control arm so that when you sweep, you can have the headlights do the same.

(sounds like an interesting project)

Actually on a car that is multiplexed like his 04, a rewire job isn't as easy as you might think. There are MANY modules all over the car and a twisted pair of wires carry all the instructions through out the cars net. It's not easy now to get from point a to b using the old wiring concept.

Yep, I will be removing mine prior to painting that area...not useful in my opinion and I live where it snows, etc...just something else to break...the wiper motors are known to fail. I've had one fail before. When my car was under warranty one time a dealer pointed out that one of the headlight wiper motors had failed. I said you can replace if it is covered by the warranty otherwise I don't care (in that case it was).

i was just gonna put on a new dynomax muffler, not replace the whole exhaust., the reason im havin trouble is hte in/out pipes are both welded to the muffler

why not use a sawzall to cut the stuff off the old muffler, and get a set of nice clamps to place it back together with the new muffler? Is there enough room to use a sawzall down there?
emory cloth should make the cut smooth, use a shop vac to suck out the metal shavings.

a decent muffler shop should be able to do this for fairly cheap, no?
