This may have been asked before, i looked and couldnt find anything on it.

I have a 2000 s80, The manual only mentions the factory jack for jacking up the car. I cannot find a place to put my floor jack on it to jack it up, or where to place jack stands without damaging the under side of the car.

can somone help me out. Maybe an adapter for my floor jack to go on the factory jack mount??

The factory jack has a small hook like thing that goes into a bracket that is attached to the car. The floor jack is flat. If i try to put the floor jack on that thing it will damage my car.

I always put my floor-jacks under the wish-bone mountings on the frame. Works fine.

Doesn't help much if you wanna pick it up straight...

To be honest, when i need to get under my car, i take it to a friend's garage, and pull it up on a drive-on hoist. Safer, easier, and far less physical!

Well, I'm just picking it up to either, 1) change rims or 2) get the car up on jackstands... not to hold it up there for any length of time.

to put rims on just use the stock jacking points and do one side, then the other. for most front end jobs you can use part of the sub frame. stuff in the back is a little harder, but you shouldn't find yourself back there too often.

im not just putting rims on. Im talking about bleeding the brakes, i dont want to just use that crappy jack that will fall over and kill me or land on my leg.

I do the same and place the jackstands running parrallel to the frame just past the factory jack points on either side. If you really can't find a place for the stands, jack it up and start tapping the underside of the car in places you think you might be able to put the stands. The place with the highest pitch or "tightest" sound is probably best.

If your going to jack the car up using the proper jack locations (by the driver/passenger doors), what are the correct locations to place 4 jack stands under the car?

I havent tried it, but I get the feeling that the jack stands I just bought are too high(even at lowest height) to slide under the car when using the side jack locations and the volvo jack. Any recommendations?

thanks

can anyone tell me where the proper points are to put the car on 4 jackstands, or where to jack the car if not jacking from the side points near the doors?

thanks
