Sorry if this is long and drawn out.

One day this summer my S60 just wouldnt start, needle said 1/4 tank, tried endlessly turning over to no avail. Indy sufggested trying gas and voila she started right up. So I figure gas guage is screwy, but choose just not to let it get under 1/4 tank. Few weeks later Im driving down highway and car starts to lose power and get message"decreased performane" or something along those lines, so I coast to breakdown lane and call AAA. Guage is reading 1/2 but I have guy put in a few gals. and she starts right up, so I bring her to a dealer.
Dealer can't find a thing wrong but offers to replace the electronic throttle for good measure and $1200+ ( I don't think so) They also perform a recall service and replace the fan motor( I think).
All is well for a for about 2 weeks and then I'm driving and car starts to lose power again, this time I get a message stating the battery is dead or dying.
This time I have it towed to an Indy. He diagnoses a bad alternator, I think he said it's only putting out 11amp and car is drawing 21amps??? He replaced the alternator but now he has the following problems and is at a loss, Sunroof will no longer operate even though there is power to it, and there is a parasitic drain on the battery constantly that he can't locate.

I could really use some help.

Take a remote and lock and unlock the car. Then try the sun roof.

You're other problem might be the ETM (Electronic Throttle Module) or Throttle Body. I had the exact same problem with mine just recently, although not quite as bad. Mine was more of a sputtering and surging when it gets to about 40mph and higher. I cleaned the throttle body last weekend as a lot of the posts here suggested. The other alternative is to replace it. It's a common problem with the S60. You can read all the posts here - do a search. It's a hot topic.

Cleaning it did correct my problem, what a difference. I also posted here some tips. If you are planning to do it and need more info, let me know. I can give you some other tips so you don't encounter some of the difficulties I did. Total work took about3 or so hours.
