Howdy.

Here's my 93' 850 GLT... pretty much stock to the bone, with the exception of a 1.3Ghz mini-itx PC system installed inside. Hence the name 850itx... someday I'm gonna get a badge that says itx and replace the GLT on the back laugh.gif

The system serves up 80GB's of mp3's and movies, not to mention voice guiding GPS navigation, and wireless internet.

Features touchscreen control, at-your-fingertips control like the BMW iDrive, and battery life of more than 15 hours on the car's battery alone.

84 244 - sold off
86 740turbo intercooler - the old man's daily driver, leaky roof, 16"s from junkyard
93 850GLT - carPC installed, still going strong
96 850wagon - snow tires + rain + highway + car in front = totalled
S60R - yes, please.

I have never seen a setup like this before. This is incredible! You have a USB drive in your center console! If I had this, I would be able to do college work on my way to school. Amazing! biggrin.gif

Believe it or not, the LCD is just kind of ziptied to the two center vents... I thought about doing a custom fabbed enclosure on the double din space for the radio, but I needed the radio for one thing, and it's much easier to reach and read the screen at the level that it's at now.

Well the whole system plus accessories was around $500-600 CAD by itself (without LCD), and the screen was around $300 CAD used. It probably cost me more in the time that I took to research and learn everything, than the actual equipment itself.

Erm.... I was thinking of getting blitzsafe adapter for an aux-in to the deck that I stole out of the old man's 850 wagon since my tape adapter refuses to work in the cold (keeps just flipping itself over and over again). But that's about it....I'm pretty cheap, so I haven't really got any serious audio upgrade plans.

Looks good man. I'm waiting to get my 7" touch screen LCD so I can finish up my carputer setup. It will be replacing the stock deck (will hollow out a duplicate deck). I am using a EPIA M10000 for my mobo and an M1-ATX PSU.

It's the Griffin PowerMate knob. Allows you to scroll and push.
