Alright so the Socal show is over and done with...here are the real pics of my intake rigging.

Im not to sure about any performance gains, but for the sound alone it was well worth the $40 to make it happen.

nice... Mikey, you gotta take a hacksaw blade and hack off that part with the hole in it.. basically smooth it out, so more air is diected into that GI-NORMOUS filter. pbucket is down else I'd show you my pics...

isnt anyone afraid of watering spashing up on the filter, and making its way into the engine?

hows water gonna get through the filter? Even with an open air cone style filter, if it's properly cleaned, no problems at all.

well, for one, it's an air filter....

if i had one of those on my ride, my engine wouldnt have lasted a week. after my most recent offroading adventure mud was all over the top side of the engine, including the air box.

good question.

i've heard of uber hydrolock as a direct result of open element filters, if this is not a problem anymore.....i'd love to jump on the wagon.

I live in seattle (it rains sometimes).. and haven't has a single percieved problem with my EST intake..

in reality, the K&N panel filter does the exact same thing as the 'intake'... so i wouldn't stress over it. tongue.gif

Yea, the K&N is pretty much the same thing...but I like the sound of an open air filter wayyyyy more.

If you hydro lock an engine your a total moron. I can take off the filter and and pour a shot of water directly into the engine and its not going to hydrolock it. Its gonna play hell on the turbo but thats about it. Basically to hydrolock an engine you have to submerge the filter. IE. Your a total moron
