Hi guys I'm new,

Purchased this car used from a relative 6 or so months ago. It's dead stock except a K&N filter, that my uncle put in it.

Well took the car 94 850 Turbo Wagon to have some oil leaks fixed, rear main and axle seal. BTW parts and labor for seals was 325.00. Got the car back fixed, they also replaced the O2 (front) sensor. Car runs great, much better than before. However I put the pedal the floor or make it run with great boost it causes the car to stall for a second. The boost gauge is laid over the to very edge or even past this point when this happens. Any ideas, like could the mechanic have left something unpluged?

You got a rear main seal job and O2 sensor job for $325? Way too low, so low I'd worry about what was done and what parts were used. Those parts alone are almost $300 at a dealer, not counting the 12 hours of labor or so to pull the transmission.

Maybe I should clear that up; it was 325 for the seal and labor. The O2 (160.00) was supplied by me and the labor on it was included in the total. So labor and seals were 325.

(also note that the rear main may not have been replaced, because upon inspection of the ticket a axle seal was replaced and a core seal???, there is a note saying the rear main was not leaking) anyway the leak is fixed.

Anybody know why the turbo would build so much boost, now? Yesterday on a 90 mile trip I was playing around and the boost easily trips the cut off at part throttle. It's rather nice before it stops, but I know its not good for the engine, trans, or the entire drivetrain.

If the car wasn't like that before the repairs, it's best to take it back and have them check it out, we could guess things to death here and get no where.

It sounds like the wastegate hose is disconnected or leaking. Excessive boost causes the overpressure boost switch to activate stopping the engine. Excessive boost, over 14 - 15 psi, will cause detonation which can cause the conn rods to break.

325 for seals and labor is still very cheap. The Volvo dealers here in Holland charge 90 euro's ($ 106 dollar) per hour.
