lol,

You were really close though Kev! That has to count for something. It seems you can fit a larger tire on the C's versus the S/V/850's. I'm interested in seeing how the tires will do with the KW's versus the current setup. I post findings once I get everything mounted(and actually get an engine back in it smile.gif )

Hey there,

I actually run 245/35/19's all the way around. Don't have any problems with rubbing unless im at full lock and even then its not an issue. I would rather have the slightly larger sidewall as the combination of a lowered suspension, small sidewall and an already stiff ride equals loose teeth!

fwiw:
225/35/19 - 78.75mm sidewall overall tire size - 25.2"
245/35/19 - 85.75mm sidewall overall tire size - 25.75"
235/40/18 - 94.00mm sidewall overall tire size - 25.4"

edit: Here is a side shot of the tires. It's still pretty thin.

You know that the Volvo size is 225/40/18 and not 235/40/18 ?

And you have indeed more room on a C70 then on a S/V70 , besides the rear is also the front fender round of chape.

Hey there,

Yeah, I know that 225's come on the stock 18's. The post at the top of the page talks about major rubbing with 235's. I figured I would post it up here just to give an idea of the overall diameter and sidewall size versus some other sizes.

regards,

Matt

Explain to me. My winter tires are 235/45/17s and they rub all the time at full lock with the stock suspension. Why don't yours? Is it that mine are 45's?

Hey Ed,

Hmm, im not sure. The overall diameter of your snow tires are 25.326". I remember there was a tech bulletion that came out showing a few small sections of the fender liner to trim on the C's as they were rubbing at full lock. If I hold the wheel all the way over I will rub just a bit but its not bad at all.

My Pegs are completely OEM with the factory equipped Pirelli's for the 04-06 S60R's. The tires are 235/40-18.
