OK, so it's not my volvo, partly cos it's still sporting the latest mod listed in the sig, but mainly cos it just wouldn't manage it! smile.gif

Loaded up with dive gear

On the shores of Lake Sibaya, with me looking rather weatherbeaten. Diving is NOT a glamourous sport!

Wow, I never thought I'd see a beach.... in Africa. I like to admire the scenery, but you won't find me swimming anywhere that is inhabited by other unknown slimy creatures ph34r.gif .

Yeah - we saw a 2.5 metre Leopard shark on one of the dives. Have seen 3 meter Raggies in the past (One swam within 1 meter of me), as well as silvertip reef sharks and one Zambezi. Sharks are generally totally unconcerned with divers. There's much more dangerous stuff down there (aggressive fish, poisonous fish, poisonous coral, the inhospitable environment...)
Some stuff I've seen:
http://www.keybaud.org/gal/Aliwal122004/DSC00125 Dolphins
http://www.keybaud.org/gal/Aliwal122004/DSC00122 Rays
http://www.keybaud.org/gal/Aliwal122004/DSC00132 Turtles
http://www.keybaud.org/gal/aliwal05/DSC00526 Nudibranchs (Sea slugs)

Our beaches are the best! The sea water temperature there is about 26 degrees C, air temperatures around the 30 mark... Bright sunshine, soft sand.

I dropped the tyres to 1.6 bar (beach authorities recommend 1 bar). Didn't even need low range...
(lol same pressure in my tyres as my t4 puts out when Ritchie goes nuts on it)

Sure looks like it.
Really cool that VS has members all over and we all get to share this kinda stuff...and Sinbad's Kia as well laugh.gif
Last I looked, the water around NY is the same color as stiff expresso. There's an expression a lot of surfers here use: "don't swallow the water!!!!"

...sad

Don't hate on the korean wink.gif I still have a volvo, even if it's a bit sick right now. An XC90 or 70 would definitely have been my first choice, but a 2nd hand 90 is literally DOUBLE what I paid for the kia... sad.gif

I wasn't knocking the Kia, Sinbad. I just got so into the sunset pic that I almost forgot what the post was about. No hate here, man. smile.gif

hehe cool smile.gif I wasn't taking it seriously anyway biggrin.gif
Sunset was awesome... Drinks on the lake shore. We've done a barbeque there before, in a pit dug into the sand, but we were running too late that day. Takes about an hour of offroading to get there from "civilisation"

just one quick question relating to your underwater pics. what was in pic # 24? thanks. i looked at most of the shots in that link and i can't wait to get back down to some clear water to do some snorkeling or scuba (if i can get certified and control my paranoid behavior breathing through the mouth piece - hey, we all have issues right?)
