Profile of the floor where the bathroom meets the hallway, there will be a maple step (they should've raised the bathroom floor, but whatever).
You can see the 2cm of maple, then the 10cm of plywood. It is clearly solid maple since the knot goes all the way through to the bottom. The black gap is where the foam is. Then you see a 1/4" piece of plywood, another 3/4" piece that is glued to the tar membrane and then the concrete.
Some of the planks have these neato swrils. My buddy who does floors said that if we were to buy the whole floor like that it would run like $15/sqft because the swirly part is only found in a little part of the tree.
