Well after having the AWD bumper begging to have the plugged driver's side exhaust utilized, we welded an exhaust tip to the back of the non-functioning, driver's side muffler. Looks pretty sweet eh?

it's gonna look pretty sweet w/ exhaust pouring out of only one side...

in all seriousness, I say why not? It'll at least look better just sitting there pizza.gif

drill a couple holes in the muffler to make it more like a dual exhaust.

how much could it really cost to make it a true dual exhaust? the real cost is the extra muffler, and you already have that, all you would need is an exhaust shop to fap up some piping that connects to the main exhaust line.

It won't cost $700, just have some muffler shop replace the dummy muffler with a real muffler and do one bit of pipe work. I've done it on mine, it is cheaper than a complete cat back from IPD.

It looks good but title should really say, 'Dual Exhaust Tip on V70 AWD" laugh.gif

Looks like a stock 2000 V70R. You can get the OEM dual exhaust from a 2000 V70R for around 200-300 dollars.

I am going to look into this tomorrow and find out if a shop can rig up a custom pipe to the non functioning muffler. If so i will have it done this weekend and post pics.

Why not just go to the dealer and order the 2000 V70R exhaust? It has a dual functional mufflers, and it bolts right up. It's around $200-$300 dollars, which isn't bad at all.

I took it to a muffler shop that morning and they said they had done it on the same car about a year ago and had some problems with it....not to mention the potential for emissions problems using a baffle as a muffler. Anyway, it looks sweet and that's all I wanted.

Yah, you cannot just drill a couple of holes in that dummy muffler/resonator ... not a good idea. I doubt you can get Volvo's dual exhaust for $200-$300 ... but if you can, go for it.

Looks pretty sweet... then again so does that big jerk wing on the honda parked next to mine. Granted it dosen't do anything. In both cases. Good cheap mod. IMOP, I think it is a good interim mod until you can get the real thing.
