it's pointless, take out the bulb.. most of the guys do.

ya, pretty much.. what the manual DOESN'T tell you is that the service light reset tool costs over 150 bucks..

that's why i love having a 95. can do everything yourself, and STILL not have to worry about obdII stuff.

There's a way to do it for free...i can't find it right now but it has something to do with turning the car off, pushing the reset button (which one i forget) turning the ignition on, and releasing after 14 seconds...
i don't know if this works on 98 because i found it while searching through 1999...

'98 70 series is the same as '96 - '97 850 ... you need the tool to reset the light. Another alternative is the Alex Peper OBD-2 reader.

Ok you lot, unsure if this works with pre obd2 but definately does with obd2:-
ign off
press+hold trip button
ignition on
keep button pressed for 10 sec
service light should flash
within 4 secs release button
That will be $150 each please LOL
