Well it seems as though spring has sprung in my neck of the woods, and finally i can put some love into the car.
One such item is fixing my drivers side mudflap which is being held on only by the top 'screw'. I thought they were torx screws and today went out to unscrew, replace the mudflap, re-screw. But it seems as though they are not screws.
Can anyone give me the quick overview on how to fix this?

The mud flaps are held in by rivets. Go to home depot or such, and buy yourself a cheap rivet gun and some rivets. If you have to get the old rivets out, just drill them out and it's easier to do all of this if you have the wheel off.

you can also use some short sheet metal screws. worked for me anyway.

I thought about ripping them off, but given the unfortunate climate and expected gravel road traveling i think it's best they stay on.

You could also go to the dealer for the rivets. I've bought them a few times, they're cheap.

This is a dealer part all the way. They will sell you the correct black ones with a little added shoulder (washer) to add holding power on the rubber. I think they charged me about $2. for six of them, and they fit into a standard cheap rivet gun. Then pull the wheel, snap off or drill out the old rivet and pop the new ones in - about 30 minutes for everything.
