my passenger door light sometime stays on even after the door is closed correctly
where is the switch that controls the door lights and what is needed to service them
I don't want the wife to slam the door anymore.

The door switch on 850s (I think it should be same for the 70-series) is integrated into the latch on the door - I'm not sure if it's serviceable or has to be replaced as a complete unit, but you can try taking the door panel off and going in there with a multimeter and probing around. The wiring diagram should be in the Haynes manual.
