Any of you ever calculate your mpg and compare it to the car's electronic gauge? How accurate is the car?

in my cases the car's been way off... generally optomistic by about 2-3 MPG.

it was pretty spot on the last time I checked. However the gas gauge seems to read about 1-2 gal lower that it actually is as well. Easy to find out, just reset the mpg as well as the trip computer next time you fill up, then when you fill up again, check it out.

I know mine is off because I have a 4% error in the speedo. Other than that it seems to be fairly close.

Mine's been off ever since I modded it past putting an IPD ECU in it. I just use the trip and my gas receipt, b/c the computers 2-3mpg off. I KNOW I didn't get 19mpg (city) running 104 the past few days. smile.gif
