yeah im thinkin its the thermostat, thats really the only thing it could be. but it was working fine yesterday.
anyone know of anything else it might be?

thermostat is the only thing i can think of

was this while driving? Or just letting it sit?

And what was the ambient temperature when this happened? you may be overlooking this...MAYBE

nah it was driving. temp was the same its been for a while. it eventually got up to operating temp, but it was 15 miles down the road instead of 1 mile down the road

oh yeah, cardinal sign of the tstat or ECT.

might as well get in there and do both....very cheap and easy to do, unless you break all your torx bits like I did....soak in PB blaster for a while before trying to get the tstat housing loose!

hahaha on the drive home, it acted normal. got to running temp in normal time. i dont know
what the hell happened. i guess ill do my thermo on my next day off

That's typical...intermittent sticking open. At least it's not sticking shut...OVER HEATING....

correct, very normal in a broken Tstat.

yes make sure you take your time w/ those torx bolts--- very touchy. I stripped mine a little bit due to a torx bit that was a bit soft, make sure yours is fresh.
