The bottom conection from the oil trap to the block is a different hose than i took off.

The new one has a metal sleeve around it, instead of just rubber. dopes this new conector need the hose clamps supplied, or does it just slide on? The kit from FCP Groton comes with the theaded clamps but it doesn't seem like the clamps would work over the metal sleeve.

Steve, you need to look at a diagram. The metal sleeve you speak of is #4 in the first diagram. There is still a clamp before and after it. The metal sleeve helps protect the short hose that it slides over if I'm correct. Here's the link to the diagram. Just select the first or second...whichever fits your car....still the part is #4 if I'm correct: http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo850oiltrapturbo.htm

Yes I concur it is part #4 in the diagram. But the metal sleeve is completely to one end and only 3/16 of rubber on the the other. not enough for a clamp also had to use a diferent rubber elbow @ the air intake end.

Is it possible FCP sent wrong kit on website it asks for a motor series but fcp phone in order did not.

I got everything on i just hope it stays

I'd say you are right...wrong kit. Give them a call ASAP to see if the metal sleeve is longer on one kit than the other, as well as the elbow issue. I'll bet that's it. Actually, my understanding is that the oil trap itself is also different.

I got the kit from FCP, and I got a metal sleve with my short hose. All the part numbers matched up, and everything seemed to be the same thing I took off.. So what I did was to just remove the sleve and trimmed the little lip on the hose.
