I just did an oil change this afternoon and noticed that there was a drip coming from the drain plug. Ok, I didn't tighten it that tight last time so I knew to tighten it more this time. But then I looked up and saw the back of the pan where the other bolts are, there's a lot of oil there. Could this be just from the drain plug, and it went upwards and stuck there? Or is it absolutely indicative of a turbo return line gone bad? Or even worse, rms?! I just reconnected my pcv system after two years of it being disconnected without my knowledge. Now, I have no smoke coming out the dipstick or oil fill but I'm worried that damage might have already been done. Thanks

Well, I know my oil cooler lines have a small leak (these are in front of the engine) and all it takes is freeway driving to blow it down across my oil pan and more than half way up the back of my engine so, I would clean the area completely and go for a good 5 mile drive at speeds below 40 and then check where most of the oil is.

where are you oil cooler lines leaking? I seem to have the same problem...I have oil all over the pan and outside of the filter...the lines are dry when they connect to the radiator....are you just going to replace the lines?
