Well, there comes a time in almost every transmission's life when it decides to take a dump. My autotragic is almost there in the wagon (it's slipping like all hell).

I managed to locate a core which needs to be rebuilt, does anyone know of any reputable places to send it in to be rebuilt?

I plan to bolt on a 15G onto the wagon someday.

I have no intention of putting a M56H into it because it's my DD.

Thanks in advance!

Level 10 is one place. There are lots of places in the country that specialize in high performance trannies. Even though they may not have any specific packages listed for Volvo, they can get stuff through suppliers. Ya just gotta call around and see who's willing to work with you. Also, while it's out, send at very least, your planetary gearset (assuming it's not damaged as mine was) to a company that does cryogenics to have it strengthened. If you can afford it, send all the gearing out. Make sure they put a good quality valve body back in it too.

Level 10 Performance Transmissions

Me and Lee have the bullet proof trans., not saying you need to go that far with just a 15G, but give them a call and see what they got

I was looking at Level Ten's product offerings this morning and they have a ton of stuff available for the 850 series. Is there a specific product i'm looking for?

Thanks smile.gif

At what point or HP should someone "build" a transmission?
Other then on a tranny with known problems

Hard to say for sure. TorqueSteer is easily running well over 300 whp and has had no tranny problems. Swedish Mike said that just for fun, a group of guys put a ginormous turbo on an auto car, and got it to run 12's a few times before the tranny died. Breaking point might be around 350 whp on the stock one. One of the major weakpoints in it is the torque converter, but it is also possible for the planetary gearset to explode into a bunch of little pieces as it did in my case.

My boss has an a4 with a level ten transmission in it, and it is really rugged. I would reccommend them as well.
