I need to perform a 120K mile service on my 1998 S70. I need plugs, wires, distributor cap, etc. Where is the best place to purchase the needed parts? Is there a "preferred" vendor for forum members? Thanks.

I buy most of my parts from www.fcpgroton.com
I also hear that www.keystonemotors.com is very competitive and will even beat groton but I haven't bought from them. Their phone number is on their site.

great experiences with www.eeuroparts.com www.myswedishparts.com so far. myswedishparts is a web front end for richmond volvo, all OEM stuff. e-euro beats almost everyone on price, and they responded promptly and appropriately to a mistake their system made on a big order of mine.

If you buy from FCP Groton make SURE you stay away from SCAN-TECH. VERY unsafe.

not all their stuff is crappy, i dont think atleast...i havent had much luck with those clear corners for the x70's...the plastic retaining clips constantly break and it seems like they are of cheap quality...i havent bought enough scan-tech stuff to make a fair judgement though....

PLEASE! Steer clear of their front end parts. I bought control arms from them for my 1998 S70 and in 10 ,000 miles they were shot! The boots were both ripped and the ball socket had more wear thean the one I took out with 130,000 miles on it . When I called Groton to complain they told me they" never had any trouble before." Bought the Volvo parts ( twice the price but worth it) and had no trouble since. Volvo parts from now on.

I have read a lot of complaints here about the Scan-tech control arms. However, when I bought control arms a few months ago, fcpgroton was selling Hamburg-Technic ($75 each arm, or $120/pair if you tell 'em you saw that price on their ebay post) and TRW ($95), but not selling Scan-tech.

If you do some digging here (search!), you'll find that the TRW arms are reasonably well regarded by VS members (e.g., Slater sells them with his delrin control arm bushing kit). The TRW arms are probably worth the extra money if you've got it, and may still be cheaper than OEM.

here is a link to one of the old threads, there are many.

The Scantech endlinks and tie rod ends are also really crappy. They suffer from the same fault as the control arm. The rubber boot tears and allows the joint to be contaminated. I had a fitment problem w/ the TRW control arms, but I modified the metal sleeve on the bushing by a couple mm, and have had no problems since. I can't say anything about the Hamburg Technik arms, but that price seems waayyy cheap.

FCP GROTON IS GOOD
IPD IS GOOD ALSO

I JUST PURCHASED FROM VOLVOPARTSDIRECT DOT COM AND THEY WERE GOOD AS WELL.

FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH, I LIKED THE LAYOUT OF THE SITE AS WELL AS THE PICTURES OF THE PARTS, SEEMED TO HAVE SOME HARD TO FIND/UNCOMMON PARTS ALSO
