The reason I ask is I had a terrible squeal so I removed the front pads last weekend to apply some more silicone. I found that only about half of the dust boot was sealed into the caliper, on both sides. It looks like whoever did the front brakes last(not me) extended the piston too far somehow.
So.....I know this needs to be fixed and it looks like my options are to rebuild the caliper, which would be about $18 in parts per side. Or buy rebult ones, eeuroparts.com has rebuilt ones for $39.99 + $50 core charge. Im leaning towards the $39.99 rebuilds. I was actually pretty surprised to find them for $39.99. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. What do you guys think?
Thanks, Matt

wow, that's a great price. FCPGroton wants $65 + core.
My drivers side caliper was really sticking and I attribute this to the cause. I cleaned it up and it seems to have temporarily solved the problem.

Yeah its a good price. They dont come with pads though. Which is fine, I want to be able to choose my own pads. Grotons come with pads. Im pretty sure im going to go with the $39.99 jobs & maybe some PBR Metal masters.

I rebuilt mine about two months ago and if I knew about the 40 dollar deal I would have been all over it. It really is a pain in the butt to do but the rebuild kit for each caliper is like $16.
