I'm thinking I have the "notorious" lifter clicking issue, but figured I'd post all the symptoms for a second opinion:
Most days engine starts giving a "tick-tick-tick" right after it's started....as my drive to work is very short (only 2 miles or so at slowish speeds), the ticking never goes away. The only exception to this recently, I had the car out on the highway @ 75MPH or so for about an hour, and, voila, no more clicking the rest of the day. However, the morning after my highway run, the clicking/ticking returned and has remained, even if the car idles/drives at slow speeds for 45 or more minutes.
If this is really the lifter clicking problem, is there anyway to fix it other than doing the O-ring replacement I've read about elsewhere on the website?
Oil is Mobil 1 15W-50 (warm climate here in Turkey), clicking was present before the last oil change (from non-synthetic 10W-30) and wasn't altered in any way by changing the oil. Slight oil leak from the RMS (1 qt/1K mi).
Clicking Lifters?
