Need Some Help Please

i have a little problem but be nice to me because for a girl i know more than most. biggrin.gif

my friend told me that cpr thing............duh, no im sorry he said it was egr, yeah egr.
mine does'nt have anything connected to it, but there used to be a hose there.
what is it supposed to connect to?

sorry if its a dumb question, but i am just learning so i can work on it a little by myself.

by the way the car is a 95 855 turbo.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It's an emissions issue.

2007.5 Chevy Duramax. Built Tranny. EfiLive. Twin Turbo. 600whp / 1000 ft lbs.

ok i see, its for emissions but where does it connect to.

Its kind of a simple system.. Kind of tricky to get to however, it is mounted to the bottom of the Intake, just after the throttle body. Here is a pic of the valve, and the two lines that go to it.



As you can see, there are only two lines that go to it, one is a metal hard line running to the exhast manifold. The other runs to the control valve mounted on the rad support.

Which one isnt hooked up?

that picture confused me my egr does'nt look like that, mine is bronze color.
and i have seen that yellow hose before its in a cluster of what i think are vaccum hoses beside the throttle cable thingy. my yellow is not connected either i just checked

oh geez! i am getting so dirty and icky digging around in this engine trying to figure out whats what.

i think i figued it out fellas, i just got to connect my yellow vaccum line to the egr diaphram thing.

He took off his intake manifold... that's love right there, folks!

Your "bronze color" doober is what you need, the one in that pic is just a little dusty. Hard to clean down there...

You're thinking of the "vacuum tree" with all the tiny hoses going to it. I hope it doesn't seem condescending when I'm using quotes around names for stuff.

There should be a sticker under your brick's hood that shows the hose routes for your particular emissions system.
