Sensor 2 is the rear o2 sensor (after cat) ?

Replaced both sensors, and still have no acceleration still showing codes

Could I have some serious engine problem?

Did you check the heater circuit of the O2 sensor? You're supposed to get 12V between the white wires (not really sure of the color) with the ignition in "RUN" position with the engine OFF.

If you get Chilton's manual, there is a detaild procedure of testing the O2 sensors.

by the way, did you clear the codes first before re-checking?

Double check the part numbers with Bosch against the Volvo 02 sensors. Several people over on the brickboard were posting that Volvo had a mis-print in their literature and they had bought the wrong senso(s) which never worked correctly. What you describe reminded me of these posts. It would be prudent to at least check, though this might not be your issue.

First disconnect the battery that will reset the adaptives and clear the codes. You will need the radio code so you can reset it. If the conditions are the same cat clogged? check the air box, vac lines ect. Did you use bosch O2 sensors if not that could be the problem.

I cleared the codes and ran the test, but I'm going to do it again to see if the codes keep coming back. On the other hand I checked the cat, and it's rattling bad. So i'm thinking that is why i'm getting poor acceleration.
