I have a 94 850 turbo and the key fob/remote quit working. As time went by it seemed like I had to get closer and closer to the car to make the fob work. After a while it quit working altogether. I replaced the battery, and it still doesn't work. I went to the Volvo dealer and he tested the fob and it checks ok.... puts out a signal... I tried reseting the fob/alarm by making sure all the doors were shut, and turning on the ignition from off to II 5 times and on the 5th time leaving the ignition on. Pressed the button on the fob, and didn't see or hear anything... I was told there were sensors in the door, ect.... is there any way for me to test these or could there be any other things I missed??? Any ideas??
Thanks,
Nathan

Your attempt to re-program was correct. I tried the same thing with two separate functioning FOBs and the same method. I just couldn't get it to work.
I don't think anyone knows why it seems to work on some cars, and not on others... does anybody?

Does anyone know where the sensors/switches are for the doors so I can test them with a multimeter? Is this even possible?
