I have a 94 850 Turbo, I attempted to replace the seal on the turbo return line it this morning but could not get the line out. I followed the instructions that are posted here but just could not figure out the right sequence of twists and lifts to successfully extract it... I tried forcing it just like the instructions say to no avail. Anybody out there done this? How did you get that darn thing out!

Thanks,

Bryan

Sometimes there's a little more force required on the power steering lines than what's shown in the repair section. I use a large prypar to "slightly" bend the lines out of the way so I can get the return line out. The lines are steel and will bend rather than crack when you move them out of the way. Make sure the tab that ties the two lines together has been removed as shown in the repair illustration. You just need to separate them a little more than what you can get by just pushing them aside with your hands.

Thanks for the hints... I finally got back to this job this weekend and was able to wrap everything up. It went it a lot easier than it came out! The old o-ring was dry and brittle - there was so much oil in that area I wasn't sure until I fixed it if all of it came from the return line. If anybody out there has turbo and have a great deal of oil in that general area it would well worth your time to do this fix and see if it doesn't solve your problems... it sure solved mine!
