Last week my battery would barely start my car. I was getting flashing lights, etc. I replaced the battery, after having it tested, and the flashing lights quit. However, the Check Engine Light Remains. I have tried to reset it - battery is currently out of car for a few hours to see if that works. I read the codes 1-1-1. I took it to auto store and one said speed sensor, and one said no fault. I have also lost trip computer display.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I got my trip computer back - I guess the battery out of the car did the trick - but still have check engine light. ODBII says no faults?

Ideas?

if you still have a CEL after CHECKING ALL OF THE OTHER TERMINALS then worry about finding an exorcist.

Main codes to be worried about are the ones for the selector mode switch (Sport, Econ, Winter) and the one that says your speedometer signal is missing. Try playing w/ the connections on the vehicle speed sensor (IIRC, it's the one further back behind the flywheel sensor.

Which codes are those? Do have a PIC of the sensor or link? I have a manual and took what I thought it was apart and put some grease - but no luck.

OK. I found the speed sensor on transmission housing. It was caked with grease (on the outside) and I took it off and added some deletric grease on the inside. I took it to Autozone and code says speed sensor PO500, but when they try to erase it says no code.

Weird - I have battery out right know to clear CEL - waiting.
