What makes this sucker turn on? I don't know that mine has ever been on, but I was trying to tap into the two power wires back there power my ipod. I'm getting no power to the pink/ black wires back there. I tried with the car on, doors open, interior lights set to on, etc. Anyone have any tips?

Thanks,

I don't know how to describe it, but it's the light above the ashtray in the back I guess. It's in the arm rest console in the front but it lights up the ashtray for the back... I think it also is supposed to light up the box in the console where the arm rest is. But, mine's never worked, so I don't really know what all was supposed to be lit or when.

I don't like crap plugged in to my adapter all the time. That's why I wired my audio in, now just wanted to solve the problem of having to charge the thing once a week.

This is the area I'm talking about, behind that little white tag - but you access it through the back seat space:

I just figured out what I did. I was testing this out at night and shut off my headlights so I didn't light up my neighbors. This light is one of the interior ones that's driven off of that, which means the voltage to it changes when you change the dimmer switch for the dash. Bad idea. Back to the drawing board on this sucker, ha.

Right, so today I went out and tapped into the cigarette lighter power cables and ran them back to the armrest. Voila, we have power!
