blink.gif Just threw this code tonight...

The code supposidely means Crankshaft position sensor circuit malfunction.

At about 2000-2500 RPM the car has a sudden jerk, however it idles smoothly. Also, it won't boost past 5 PSI, 8 PSI at redline.

I changed the spark plug wires and took my airbox out. I may have hit the harness/connector plug for it when I was putting the airbox back in.

Is this the one on the driver's side of the engine by the transmission? Where is this sensor?

[color="#000000"]Any ideas?

Fairly common issue. It sounds like the camshaft position sensor needs replacing.

camshaft or crankshaft position sensor? The code states crankshaft, just curious if that would also be interchangeable for the camshaft position sensor...?

Good question. Had read a lot about the camshaft position sensor. Don't know a thing about the crankshaft position sensor. I didn't bat an eye when I answered the original post. I assume it's the same, but worth waiting for others to reply with a more definitive answer.

well, i'm 100% positive they're not the same sensor, I'm just wondering where exactly the harness for the crankshaft position sensor runs.

Found this thread... http://www.volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=28049

No engine removal needed for the Engine RPM sensor. If you look just to the right of the destributor, and down, At what would be the 12:00 position where the trans bolts up to the engine, that sensor is the RPM sensor. It is easier to find and trace the wire to the connector if you remove the air box. Check and clean the connector first and see if the code comes back.

Time to go give that a shot.

OK, so I found the crankshaft position sensor (white connector plug), as Rich said, it's located under the distributor cap, a bit to the right. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in.

car drive better now. unsure.gif ... I turned the mbc down to about 8 PSI for the time being, a bit gun shy laugh.gif .

rich is, was, and still is the man.
