Car is a 1997 850, 180k. Had the check engine light scanned at AUTOZONE (good or bad?) and they said it was a, PO172 / PO455 / PO115. The car started to run really bad the other morning when I would give it gas, it would almost cut off. That evening the car was running fine. I have also noticed the temp guage will sometimes go high, not sure if this is related.
Check engine light has been on for about 50k. I will say that the O2 sensors have never been replaced along with any other componets that would be related to thesE codes.
The last tune up was done around 120k. THis car has been really good up until now.
any places to start?
thanks,

A P0172 usually indicates a vacuum leak somewhere. I would have to look up the others to see what they are.

I bet it's the vacuum elbow on the passenger side of the intake manifold.
You drove around w/ a CEL for 50k miles
??? The temp. gauge should always rest at the same point once the car is warmed up. If it does not, you need to replace the thermostat. I'm surprised it hasn't toasted a HG or something yet. A tune-up needs to be done at the same time as all this stuff as well including an o2 sensor.

Well i just went and checked the elbow on th pasenger side of the manifold and Darn how right you guys are that thing was so mushy and soft you could see were it was kinda sucked in. The only thing is that i could not see or feel any clamp?
Thanks for the info, and oh yea by the way i did drive 50k with the CEL on.
And for the temp the car never overheated there were just a few times that the temp gauge was at about the 2 oclock postion.
Also i an going to go ahead and change te O2 sensors also. and give it another tune up.
thanks to this site i do save a little, can afford more miller lite that way.
thanks mark
