My car gos forward in all gears P,R,N,3 AND 1 i've had the car for only one month and it's my 1st Volvo by the way it's a 1994 850 glt sedan auto. this problem just started this weekend and only gos forward in park when you step on the gas. i've read alot about the pnp switch so that's what I was thinking it was. anyone ever have this problem? HELP

Not exactly sure what your problem could be, it's not common from what i've seen. Can you confirm that it does shift/change when you move the shifter? Can you feel the car move slightly or feel the clunk or movement from the tranny/engine when you move the shifter? If the shifter itself doesn't change the transmission at all I would say its not the PNP switch but the linkage itself. I know that PNP switches are common in these cars and can go bad without notice.

Alvin I did read the code and what I got was in the A1 slot code 222 (differant sites said differant things) but it's main relay signal absent or faulty or S2 solenoid open circuit? and slot A2 311 ? A3 421? A5 no code A6 111? A7 122 air temp sensor signal. let me see if I can expaine better. In park it is in park till you try to rev the car when you rev past 2500 rpm the wheels start to spin and moving forward in park < well everyone knows the clicking noise you hear. R in reverse if you take your foot off the break the car moves forwared. I had the car in the road and put it in R and reved a little bit and the car started to go back slowly at first then started going forward very slowly.... N the car drives like its in drive.... D gos forwared but for some reson it feels better in the N and finaly 3 and L car moves forwared but the up arrow lights up in both gears. Like I side feel free to ask any ? about this I'll be on the internet all night till I figer it out because my car is for day to day useage and thats to get my son around and to get me to work. and I don't any other way to get around.
